October... Every year, I long to see the autumn colours back home in Ohio, when October rolls around. I see all those comforting cinnamon-laced recipes and pumpkin-everything, and I sigh... Ahhhh, autumn... So, I'm pretending it is autumn, just for one night, here in the land down under.

I hope all of you in the Northern Hemisphere are enjoying the splendour of autumn. 

I always loved October in Ohio... the sharp golden light, brilliantly-coloured leaves, crisp cool mornings and warm afternoons, apple cider, the scent of wood-fires burning, and the myriad apple and pumpkin-laced baked goods--more and more of which seem to be invented and shared every year. Seeing such things on Pinterest and the like is making me feel a little homesick. At least I can file away all of those delicious-looking recipes for next fall.

Wishing you a lovely spring or autumn equinox--depending upon whichever hemisphere you're in. I plan to relax, as much as possible, this weekend. The baby is due in a few short weeks, so I'm taking it easy now... and waiting for his arrival.
