Almost-Spring Tablescape Inspiration

Are you ready for some lovely leafy greenery, fresh floral inspiration, and beautifully personal tables? (I always am!) I don't know about you, but, after the craziness of the holidays, I just want to see simpler, more laid-back table styling.

February can be a long, dreary month for those of you in cold climates, and you are probably yearning for a little hint of spring, right? I hope these table ideas will help you get through those last few cold weeks and inspire you to freshen up your tablescapes, to look forward to the sunnier days ahead.

I'm really into a more rustic look, right now, such as beautifully imperfect china and wooden boxes full of succulents and roses. I love the brass, rose gold, and copper trends going on, as well as matte black finishes, especially for ceramics. Berries, branches, and small fruit are wonderful elements, along with cut flowers. I also love seeing gum leaves, protea, and wildflowers on the table. They look so natural and informal (and they grow well here in South Australia, so that's a bonus for me!). Personal touches, like handmade place cards, are such a lovely way to let your guests know that you appreciate them. Finally, let's not forget how gorgeous indoor bulbs can be in late winter, to bring a bit of spring into your home.

Any time of year, it's nice to see something verdant and welcoming, as we sit at the table. Enjoy...

Beachy & Bohemian

I cannot resist a bright white, sunny home. Throw in a vaulted ceiling, cozy, comfy sitting areas, warm woods, and some greenery... what more could you want? The beachy, boho Australian family home of Zoe Dent, co-founder of The Wedding Nest wedding registry, has the perfect blend of cool style and comfort. Every space just says "chill", to me.

While both were on maternity leave, Dent and friend Jacqui Scruby decided to start up a wedding registry. They both had been very disappointed by a lack of cool things to register for, when they had gotten married. Despite being (probably exhausted) new mums, they worked hard to make The Wedding Nest a great place to shop. All their late nights and busy weekends paid off, when they could quit their old jobs and focus on their business.

In choosing pieces for her home, as in finding beautiful items curated for The Wedding Nest, Zoe Dent has filled her home with quality pieces which she and her family treasure daily, and will, no doubt, enjoy for years to come. Zoe says “My home reflects both my love of nature and the beach. I prefer neutral colours as they are calming, and instead like to play with different tones, textures and textiles to create interest."

It's such a gorgeous, relaxed home. I just had to share it with you today.

Magical Metallics

It's amazing the magic a little metal can create...

A glimmer of gold... Framing a view... Lines like drawings structuring a room... Shimmering patterns upon a wall...

The possibilities are endless.

Cool, Casual Dining

I love the laid-back mood of each of these dining spaces. The wishbone and metal chair styles are so perfect right now, and I always love gorgeous pendant lights, gallery walls, and beautiful windows. Hope you love them, too.

An Elegant Ohio Farmhouse

Being from Ohio, I just had to take a look at this beautiful, cozy farmhouse in my home state. Its lovely mix of antiques, comfortable fabrics and furnishings, and eccentric collections drew me in, when I saw it. Blessed with a peaceful rural setting, this home is jam-packed with charm. The garden is delightful, too. Owners Greg and Page Price have filled their home with such personality. I love the attention to detail everywhere you look. The couple makes sure their home is a pleasure for their guests--of both the two-legged and four-legged variety. They have even created a "dormitory" bedroom in the attic, for those late-night get-togethers, when friends just don't want to leave the party.

A dozen gorgeous rooms

Sunny, fresh, cozy rooms... that's what I'm in the mood for right now. It must the midsummer vibe going on here. I just realized that almost all of these rooms are white. What can I say? I always love a chic white room. Like an art gallery, they showcase the beauty of each piece in the space.

Hope you enjoy them, too.
