These shoes are from London, and there is no chance of me acquiring them--nor any chance of me being able to walk in them, even if I could get them (my feet refuse to cooperate with heels)... Despite all of this, I'm still swooning over these teal 1920s-esque heels. The color, suede, stitching detail, and satin ribbon get it just right.

Golden Twenties
Creamy, golden, elegant... I love the "Great Gatsby"-inspired mood of these images.

Mooi Mermaids Installation
I love the watery blue patterned light cast across the walls of the space created by Mooi for their "Mermaids" installation at the London Design Festival in September 2011. It reminds me of the play of light across the ceiling of an indoor pool. Wouldn't you like to have such a lovely light in your lounge?

Lotus Wallpaper
I love The Lotus wallpaper by Farrow & Ball. The pattern was "drawn from 19th century French archives and influenced by the Arts & Crafts Movement", according to the company site.
I could see this paper making a dramatic statement in an entryway, hall, or powder room. It would look very glamorous in a dining room, too. The softer colorways would work beautifully in bedrooms and bathrooms, I'd say.
This wallpaper is not for the faint of heart, that's for sure!
Happy weekend, everyone!

Fab Frock Friday: The Little Black Dress
Every woman should have a beautiful Little Black Dress, as we all know (or two or three or more!).
The holiday season is upon us now, so this is the perfect time of year to find a perfect LBD. Whether the occasion calls for a simple sheath, a cocktail dress, or a ballgown, a black dress always looks elegant, sexy, and flattering.
It's time to celebrate --and look gorgeous while doing so!

Happy Thanksgiving!
To all of you in America, I wish you a very Happy Thanksgiving!
This holiday will probably be the last one, for quite a while, which I will spend with my family, here in the States. One week from today, I will return to Australia, to be with Glen. I'm very excited to be going back, to be with the great love of my life. I will miss my family, though. So I will be savoring today, and I'm not just talking about turkey and pie.
Hope you all will have a lovely day, wherever you are, whatever you will do.

Appetizing Bites
Are you looking for some great appetizers to serve for the holidays?
Thanksgiving is just two days away, here in the States. If you are like me, the appetizer portion of a dinner party (or "nibbles", as they say in Australia) eludes me, until the last minute. Then I remember, "Oh, yes, people need to snack on something before dinner!" Maybe you are having that kind of moment right now.

Well, you're in luck, because I've found six delicious recipes for you! A few months ago, I made the Mushroom and Bacon Dip for a "Christmas in July" dinner which my boyfriend and I hosted, and, let me tell you, it is amazing! It is even more flavorful the next day, so this dip is a perfect make-ahead appetizer. On that occasion, I also made sweet potato wedges, a favorite side dish, which I've made many times. The sweet potato skins recipe, below, looks even better, with the addition of bacon and sour cream toppings. The other recipes just look so tasty, I'm dying to try them myself.
All of the recipes are from Martha Stewart, my go-to recipe source. I hope you will enjoy them, and I wish you all a wonderful holiday season!
