Patterns, Please!

If ever there was a perfect place for pattern--the bolder, the better!--it would be the bathroom.

The bath is a room where one does not spend a great deal of time (unless you are like me, and you are in the "high maintenance" category...ahem), therefore it is the perfect room to decorate with a fabulous eye-catching pattern.

Whether using paint, tiles, or wallpaper, covering the floor, an accent wall, or every wall, you can create a bathroom which will be far from boring. If you are afraid to use too much pattern in the main bathroom, you could just do the powder room instead, which would be sure to wow your guests.

Wedding Wednesday: Jesus Peiro SS 2012

Strong silhouettes and dramatic draping are the key design elements of Spanish bridal designer Jesus Peiro's collection for Spring Summer 2012. You will find very little embellishment beyond an occasional bow among these gowns. A few of the gowns are lacy, but the rest are rather austere in their materials.

I think the gowns are quite modern. I must admit, my favourite dress in the collection is the most traditional one, the heavily draped ballgown (top two images). I'm a romantic, what can I say?

To combat the dreary mood of the rainy late autumn day I'm having, today's post is all about bright bold colours. This fabulous trend is one which I think works well in all seasons. What better pick-me-up than a pop of bright pink, lemon yellow, or kelly green?

P.S. How do you like my new pink zig zag wallpaper? I designed it myself. I'm no whiz at graphic design, but I'm trying to teach myself a little bit here and there. I just wanted a new look, to mix things up on the blog.
