Decorator Suzanne Kasler was inspired by the colourful doors of Paris, when she designed the colour scheme for this grand Connecticut home. Starting with a base of neutrals, Kasler injected pops of intense colour in the home's design, to "create a subliminal rhythm" as you walk through the house. I love seeing the brilliant turquoise dining room framed by a soft ivory space. Such exciting contrasts are created by this approach to colour. I also love the many gold and silver accents throughout the home, which add lots of sparkle and glamour to the spaces. This is one home I won't soon forget!

Tempt me, turquoise...
I've always loved shades of aqua through turquoise--warm blues (which I know seems like an oxymoron, to some). Just let me swim in these beautiful blue hues for a little while...

Spring Hues
Spring has arrived here in the land down under, bringing blossoming trees, gentle warm breezes, and exuberant birdsong to my days. Pretty pastel hues seem so perfect for this time of year (but, of course, I always love them!). Today I'm finding my eyes wanting to linger on images of lovely rooms in shades like pale aqua, sugary pink, and dreamy lavender. I hope you will enjoy looking at such sweet eye candy, too.

Divine Dining
You know I always love seeing gorgeous dining rooms, and these rooms are no exception. Every one of these dining rooms is so chic, so full of personality. I think the best spaces, the ones which draw us in and make us want to linger, are the ones which express the owner's personal vision, don't play by the rules, like these. How could you not enjoy a meal in one of these rooms?
They are just divine.
Happy weekend, everyone!
