Being a romantic sort of gal... I'm all for celebrating Valentine's Day. And, having been lucky enough to have found the great love of my life, I'm incredibly happy to be sharing it with him. My darling, Glen, means the world to me.

An update on brownies and visa progress... Yesterday and today, I have been so busy doing paperwork, for the visa application, that I have not had time to bake brownies, I'm sorry to report. And, as much as Glen and I had hoped to lodge the visa application today, on this lovely holiday, well... It was too much to do in one morning. We did get a couple of things done. We just have to wait until tomorrow to get certified copies of documents (the classic scenario happened, with someone being out to lunch, when we went to the office). All is well, though. We will get it all sorted and mailed out by the end of the week, no doubt. It will be fine.

Wherever you are in this vast world, whatever you are doing, whoever you are with today... I wish you a happy day. And, if you are looking for love, I want to assure you that true love is possible, and it is worth seeking. I found mine, and I couldn't be happier.

Sweets for your sweetie

Here are some sweet treats to make for Valentine's Day. Again, I have relied mainly upon the expertise of the one and only Martha Stewart for my source of inspiration.

Later today I'm going to bake a batch of brownies, for a Valentine's Day treat. Ok, it's really to make sure that I get my chocolate fix for the holiday. I guess I should probably share the brownies with Glen and his daughters, who will be spending the evening with us. (Now you know the reason why we went out to dinner last Saturday night, instead of going on Valentine's Day.)

Tomorrow, Glen and I are planning to take a huge step toward building our life together, which seems very appropriate to do on Valentine's Day. We are going to submit applications for me to become a resident of Australia. We are hoping with all our hearts that the visa will be approved, and the sooner the better. Nothing means more to us than being together, every day and every night.

I just need to finish up some paperwork. Then it's brownie time!

Valentine's Day Cards & Crafts

If you are the crafty do-it-yourself type, and you are looking for some lovely things to make for Valentine's Day, then I hope you will enjoy these cards and crafts from Martha Stewart Living.

To celebrate a little early, my boyfriend and I had dinner last night at an Italian restaurant, which we had been meaning to visit. The place had a very eclectic look, and felt very cozy (especially after sipping a couple glasses of sparkling shiraz!).

When Glen and I got home, we watched the classic 1967 film Bonnie and Clyde. I know that does not seem very romantic, but it is a movie we have always been meaning to watch together. If you haven't seen it, check it out sometime. Faye Dunaway's wardrobe is worth watching it for, if nothing else.

Hope you are have a wonderful weekend, everyone. Cheers!
